After a very long 17 hour, two leg flight from Boston to HongKong to Cambodia, we landed safely in Phnom Penh International Airport. Phnom Penh is indeed a bustling city with an intricate traffic navigation system, that will be considered to some westerners, very dangerous. However, no one drives fast. That could be because there is too much traffic to drive fast, or that the people are in no hurry to get to their destinations. The merging of traffic at intersections is a like a choreographed dance, with vehicles going every which way (literally) seamlessly, not even a video (one of which I'll post at a later date) can do it justice.
Stages of our flight:
Checking in Logan, Boston
HongKong huddle...Sam and I are not paying attention to Dan's speech/instructions. We are bonding as we will be the security detail at the clinics.

Waiting for our transport to be taken to the hotel |
Phenom Penh, Cambodia arrival. Being met by old friends and then going out for an awesome lunch. Now planning for the next few days.
14 volunteers and 36 bags not including carry on's makes for chaos!
Paragon Central Hotel, our home for a few days before clinics start.
Mok Mony Restaurant

One of many Buddhist Monasteries in Phenom Peng |
 |
Crab soup with mushroom |
We got to see some cool Buddhist Monasteries on our way to a fabulous lunch at Mok Mony, Khamer Asian Cuisine. The crab soup, pictured at right, was a favorite. It is very cheap to eat in Cambodia, especially for foreigners.
