Fruits of Cambodia

Rambutan, Longan, and Waxed Apple
Cambodia, being a tropical country, boasts a wide variety of fruits, some I'm familiar with and others not so much. There are mangoes galore, coconuts, soursops, avocados, plums, tangerine, oranges, grapefruits, sapodillas, passion fruits, pineapples, waxed apples, tamarind, and of course, bananas.

The unfamiliar fruits are:
Durian, which looks like a spinny breadnut fruit.
Durian
Longan...one of my favorites. Just break the skin in two, separate and suck the juicy pulp off the seed.

Longan
Rambutan...another of my favorites that is similar to Longan in taste and texture.
Lychee is another similar fruit to the Longan and Rambutan.

Lychee
Jackfruit. This is a huge fruit and needs a very sharp knife to open and take apart. Only portions of the inside are edible. ..the puds. Each cub in a cluster has a seed.

Dragon Fruits. There is a red and white variety and can be bought in the USA. They are nothing special though.  Sherry likes them!
Other fruits are the Mangosteen, Persimmons, Pomelo, Star apple, and Salak, to name a few.
