Leaving Ko Libong

After 4 nights, it is time for us to leave this beautiful and secluded island. Like the Elephant Project, leaving Ko Libong island was very hard. The Libong Relax Beach Resort lived up to its billing as a place where one can truly relax, listening to the ocean waves, the birds in the trees, the great sunsets, temperature changes (cool at night), beautiful beaches, and the noisy Cicada bugs that signal the advent of dusk and wake you at dawn.

We ate fabulous food, got daily massages, met new people including Katie from Corning NY, also befriended great staff, and visited other more established neighboring islands where we enjoyed wonderful snorkeling and swam into the Emerald Cave. This is one place I'll recommend you visit if you ever decide to make a trip to Thailand or Southeast Asia in general.

Instead of going back the way we came, we opted instead to take the resort's water taxi back to Trang. On the way, we encountered lots of jellyfish. And to our astonishment, there were lots of boats out harvesting the fish. The Jellyfish are then taken ashore for processing for food (protein) and cosmetics.
