Trang, Thailand

Ban Aothong Hotel
We started our day talking to everyone back home.  I am not always a fan of technology (this is Sherry in case you couldn't guess), however, I love we can stay in touch so easily and via video.  30 years ago, when I was in the Peace Corps it was a phone call at Christmas and snail mail. I admit I do miss getting snail mail.

After talking to family, we took a taxi to Bangkok, the driver was late so I was getting nervous but it all worked out. From Bangkok, we flew to Trang and took a taxi to our hotel.  I am amazed at how simple it is to travel. We point to the name of our hotel and get in a van and magically get dropped off at the exact hotel. People are so friendly and helpful.  Of course, we hit old bumps and snags but it works out.

How Surreal to think we are listening to live 60's music at a wine bar.  "Itchy bricky heart.  We can't access our bank account but they take credit so we will treat ourselves and try and figure it out tomorrow.

The breeze is lovely, the accommodations are reasonable, the wine is wonderful and we are living a dream.

Oops! our accommodation for the next two nights

Our room is on the fourth floor, twin beds, no elevator but a private porch and 3 in1 just waiting for the morning.  3 in 1 is instant coffee cocoa and powdered milk in a packet for your morning brew.

It's great to be by the coast again, it's like we are in a different country. Away from the hot and muggy air to hot and breezy.  Mountains that are green and a slower pace of being in the world. If ever you get a chance to visit Thailand, Trang must be on your list of places to see.

Relaxing time

Now she is relaxed

Having not eaten since breakfast at 7:30AM, I sprang for a 2nd dinner...more like an appetizer. New Zealand mussels with sauteed basil and garlic. The 1st was seared tuna. Sherry had a small pizza and  Carbonara.
